Get FilMode.
FilMode is an Android app, and Google Play is the only channel we distribute it through. The listing is in review — this page says so plainly rather than sending you to an empty store page, and it will link straight to Play the moment the listing goes live.

Want it before the public listing opens? Email us the Google account you use on your phone and we will add you to the internal testing track — the same build, installed and updated through Play like any other app.

Not this app
FilMode is Android only. The same editing engine ships on the other platforms under our cross-platform edition, ProCut — same team, same core, separate app and separate project library.
What your phone needs.
Export speed and the highest workable resolution come from your chip's video encoder, not from the app. The minimum column is where FilMode runs at all; the recommended column is where 4K work stops feeling like work.
| What | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Android version | 7.0 (API 24) | 12 or newer |
| RAM | 3 GB | 6 GB or more |
| Free storage | 500 MB plus your footage | 3× your project's source size |
| Video decode | H.264 hardware decode | HEVC / H.265 hardware decode |
| Highest export | 1080p 30 fps | 4K 60 fps |
| Screen | 720×1280 | 1080×2340 or larger |
Two settings are worth changing before a long export: exclude FilMode from battery optimisation, so Android does not kill the render when the screen goes off, and keep enough free space for the output file — a 4K minute is roughly 400 MB.
Questions that come up at install time.
How do I check the app is really ours?
Every build we publish is signed with our developer key. If you ever end up with an APK from somewhere that is not Google Play, check the signature before installing it:
apksigner verify --print-certs FilMode.apk
The certificate should read CN=FightTech, OU=ProCut, O=FightTech,
SHA-256 fingerprint
1a:c7:36:69:22:0d:5b:2d:9d:82:60:83:9c:e8:cd:a2:3e:37:ff:d2:b6:35:bf:04:b3:fa:17:95:be:20:5b:3f,
and the package name app.filmode.videomaker. Anything else is not
our build — do not install it, and
tell us
where you found it.
Builds installed from Play are re-signed by Google's Play App Signing, so the fingerprint you see on a Play install is Google's, not the one above. That is normal and is how every app on Play works.
Why is there no direct APK download?
A directly installed APK never updates itself, and Play refuses to update over a build signed with a different key — so a sideloaded copy quietly strands you on an old version, and the fix is uninstalling and losing the app data. For an Android-only app, one channel that updates properly is worth more than a second channel that does not. If you need the app before the listing opens, take the internal testing track instead.
Is the free tier a trial?
No. The free tier has no time limit, no project count, no watermark, and no export ceiling — 4K is free, and so is every AI feature. Pro adds the eight Pro colour looks and turns the ads off; nothing you make in the free tier stops working if you never buy anything.
Will it work without a SIM or Wi-Fi?
Yes. Import, cut, preview and export all run on the device — automatic captions too — so the whole editor works in airplane mode. The network is only used to buy or restore a purchase, to fetch a caption language pack the first time you pick that language, and for the one reward video you tap yourself.
I already have ProCut installed. Can I have both?
Yes — they are separate apps with separate package names, so they install side by side and neither touches the other's projects. If you are on Android and do not need the desktop or iPhone editions, FilMode is the one to keep.
